What is a Cataract
A cataract is a clouding of the eye’s natural lens. Cataracts typically develop as a result of the natural aging process, but cataracts may also be caused by an eye injury, and in rare cases, cataracts may be present a birth. There is no cure for cataracts, and there are no known medicines that will slow or stop cataract development. Eye surgery is the only cataract treatment.

Cataract eye surgery is a simple, out-patient procedure and today’s lens implant choices restore a much fuller range of vision than traditional intraocular lenses ( IOLs ).
